Tempe, AZ - The Tempe Fourth of July Celebration has been moved from Tempe Town Lake to Tempe Diablo Stadium (2200 W. Alameda Drive) due to unforeseen circumstances with the company contracted to produce the event.
The event will run 6-10 p.m. with fireworks at approximately 9 p.m. Tickets will now be just $2.50 each in honor of America 250. Children 5 and under are free. More ticket information will be available on Tuesday, June 30 at tempe.gov/Tempe4th.
On Tuesday, June 23, Allure Event Company notified the City of Tempe that they would be unable to proceed with the production of this year's event at Tempe Beach Park.
"While cancellation of the event could have been the easiest route for the City to take, we felt it was important to come together as a community, despite the difficult challenges we faced in putting together an event that normally takes 11 months of planning," said Tempe Mayor Corey Woods. "We look forward to celebrating America's 250th birthday with friends, family and loved ones in a beautiful venue, and City staff is working around the clock to produce a fantastic, safe event we can all be proud of."
Those who have already purchased tickets for the Tempe Beach Park celebration will soon receive an email with refund information.
