Marion City Hall to Close on Friday for Employees to Relocate to First Floor; Meetings Return to City Hall Beginning March 16

Since January, Marion City Hall, 1225 6th Avenue, has been under construction, with all employees working from the second floor. As the first phase of construction concludes, the time has come to relocate employees and office furniture so that construction can begin on the second floor.

The moving process will begin on Thursday, March 5, with limited services available at Marion City Hall. On Friday, March 6, City Hall will be closed to walk-in traffic so that employees can clean, move furniture and relocate their workspaces to the first floor.

Additionally, beginning on March 16, public meetings typically held in City Council Chambers will return to Marion City Hall. This includes meetings of the Marion City Council and the Zoning Board of Adjustment.

This project is a strategic reorganization of departmental services to improve both public access and employee safety.

Project completion is anticipated later this spring.
