The final race of the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland could hardly have been more dramatic, with Robert de Haan emerging victorious in the final lap of the season. The 19-year-old Dutchman secured his sixth victory of the season in Proton Huber Competition's Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, earning him the 2025 championship title of the one-make series. Second place, and with it the runner-up title, went to Schumacher CLRT driver Porsche Junior Alessandro Ghiretti of France.

The slightly damp track at the start of the race added extra pressure on the two title contenders. Alessandro Ghiretti started from the front row, with series leader Robert de Haan right behind him. While the Dutchman got off the line perfectly and quickly gained two positions, the Frenchman fluffed his run into the first corner. Under pressure, Ghiretti attempted an overtake well outside the track limits and was instructed by race control to give back second place to de Haan shortly afterwards.

Pole-sitter Flynt Schuring, meanwhile, chose not to push ahead. The 19-year-old Dutchman from the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland Talent Pool quickly pulled almost five seconds clear of the field. The chasing pack initially settled into formation, with Alessandro Ghiretti hanging at a respectful distance behind Robert de Haan in third.

Everything went smoothly until the final lap, when the two Schumacher CLRT teammates, Schuring and Ghiretti, attempted a tactical manoeuvre: the leader slowed dramatically to allow the two pursuers to catch up. In a braking zone, Schuring and Ghiretti worked in tandem to try and outsmart de Haan. All three Cup 911 made light contact in the process. Schuring spun and Ghiretti lost momentum, while de Haan emerged as the clear winner from the chaos. Less than two minutes later, he crossed the finish line ahead of Ghiretti.

After losing the title battle to Alessandro Ghiretti in the international Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, Robert de Haan claimed redemption in the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland. ‟My start went perfectly. After that, it was basically settled. I'm not exactly sure what Flynt and Alessandro were trying at the end. In any case, it didn't work," the Dutchman remarked dryly.

Naturally, the fierce three-way fight between de Haan, Ghiretti, and Schuring kept the stewards on their toes. However, they found no reason to alter the race outcome. Ariel Levi's third place finish remained undisputed, with the Israeli GP Elite driver narrowly holding off Alexander Tauscher from Bavaria (Target). Behind them came Keagan Masters from South Africa (Proton Huber Competition) and Porsche Junior Theo Oeverhaus from Germany (Bonk Motorsport).

The ProAm victory went to Ahmad Alshehab from Kuwait, who drove a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup for the [a-workx] by Porsche Paderborn team. Michael Essmann (Team75 Bernhard) was listed as second ahead of Sören Spreng (GP Elite). Michael Schrey (Bonk Motorsport) had already clinched the ProAm title after Saturday's race.

Thanks to his ninth class win of the season, already-confirmed rookie champion Sacha Norden (Proton Huber Competition) reinforced his dominance in the Carrera Cup rookie standings. ‟It's been a really cool year," reflected the 24-year-old Dutchman. Brazilian Matheus Ferreira (Target) finished second, ahead of Nick Ho. The Dutch driver from GP Elite was competing in only his second race in the German Carrera Cup.

In the team championship, France's Schumacher CLRT claimed the title ahead of Bavarian squad Proton Huber Competition and the Netherlands' GP Elite.

The winners' trophies at the finale were presented, among others, by Thomas Illner, Chief Operating Officer of Porsche Deutschland. ‟This is the kind motorsport we've come to expect from the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland: excitement until the very last second. We couldn't have asked for anything better," he praised. Thorsten Rückert, Project Manager Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland, added: ‟My heartfelt congratulations go to the four category champions. I'm already looking forward to the 2026 season in our one-make series, then featuring the new Porsche 911 Cup."
