FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: September 24, 2025
Pueblo, CO― On September 24, 2025, at approximately 2:22 p.m., Pueblo Police officers were near the 3000 block of West Northern Ave. responding to a possible auto theft. At this time, the Pueblo Communications Center received a report of a fight with weapons near the auto theft call. The nearby officers reported shots fired and responded to the parking lot of a nearby business and located a male with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The Coroner's Office will release the victim's identity after the appropriate notifications have been made.
Detectives from the Pueblo Police's Crimes Against Persons and Crime Scene Investigations Sections responded to investigate the incident. This is an isolated incident with no threat to the public. Detectives are in contact with and are interviewing the alleged shooter. The circumstances of the shooting are being investigated with no determination of charges at the time of this release.
This marks the City's tenth homicide of 2025; there were 15homicides year-to-date in 2024.
