The Cleveland Cavaliers face the Detroit Pistons in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals at Rocket Arena on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. The Great Day Improvements Garage (formerly Gateway East Garage) will open at 11:30 AM and fans should plan ahead to manage any possible traffic congestion or parking challenges with two additional events and a community festival occur simultaneously downtown. The Guardians play the Minnesota Twins at Progressive Field at 6:10 p.m., Zach Bryan performs at Huntington Bank Field at 7:00 p.m., and the STEAM Family Festival runs at Cleveland Public Auditorium from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Several major roads surrounding Rocket Arena will be temporarily closed on Saturday, May 9th. East 9th Street north of Lakeside Avenue will be closed to manage traffic flow around the arena. North Marginal Drive will close from East Drive to Burke Airport, and West 3rd Street north of Lakeside Avenue will also be restricted. The East 9th Street Eastbound Off-Ramp from Route 2 will be closed until traffic clears following the events.
Those attending these events are encouraged to anticipate travel delays and consider using public transportation.
Parking restrictions begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2026, and continue through midnight. Vehicles parked in restricted zones will be ticketed and towed at the owner's expense to the City of Cleveland's Impound Unit at 3040 Quigley Road.
