Comment period open for two Howard County bridge replacement projects

JEFFERSON CITY , M o . - The Missouri Department of Transportation is seeking community input on a project to replace the Business Route 240 and Missouri Route 3 bridges over CPKC Railroad in Howard County, east of Glasgow. Built in 1934 and 1941, respectively , both bridges are in poor condition and have reached the end of their useful lives. Replacing both bridges will require closing each bridge, with signed detours. Construction is expected in 2027 or 2028, dependent on contractor scheduling.

As part of the design process, MoDOT is seeking community input and has multiple ways by which interested parties can provide feedback during the open comment period, Aug . 27 - Sept . 17 , 202 6 . By commenting, questioning, and providing community insight, the public's input is essential in helping to guide the design and construction process.

• In person - An open-house - style public meeting will be held T hur sday, Sept . 3 , 202 6 , from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Armstrong City Hall, 106 Halley Street , in Armstrong . The project team will be on hand to answer questions , provide information, and receive input about the project. There will be no formal presentation, so attendees may come and go as they please at any time during the advertised hours.
