PR No. 254 Parliamentary Delegation from Maldives Calls on Federal Minister For IT I
A parliamentary delegation from Maldives People's Majlis, led by H.E. Ibrahim Shujau, Senior Deputy Leader of the PNC Parliamentary Group, called on Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja in Islamabad today.
Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja welcomed the delegation and briefed them on Pakistan's expanding ICT sector, digital workforce development, digital public infrastructure, and initiatives aimed at fostering innovation-led economic growth. She highlighted the strong and cordial bilateral ties between Pakistan and Maldives as a foundation for enhanced cooperation in IT and emerging technologies.
The two sides discussed opportunities for collaboration in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital public infrastructure, and fintech, as well as capacity building and institutional knowledge exchange.
The Maldivian delegation appreciated Pakistan's progress in the digital sector and expressed interest in further expanding cooperation in IT and emerging technologies. The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to strengthening Pakistan-Maldives ties in all fields particularly IT.
