Dentons Canada continues Employment and Labour expansion, welcoming partner Laura Mensch in Calgary

November 2, 2026

Dentons, Canada's Global Law Firm, is pleased to welcome Laura Mensch as a partner in its Employment and Labour group in Calgary, marking the latest addition to its fast-growing and market-leading national group. A recognized management-side lawyer with deep experience in the Alberta market, Laura advises employers on workplace matters that call for both sound legal judgment and a clear understanding of how organizations operate.

"I've built my practice around helping employers make decisions they can stand behind, even when the issues are complex," said Laura Mensch. "What drew me to Dentons was the opportunity to do that work as part of a cohesive Employment and Labour team, with colleagues across the country who understand the broader business picture. It's exciting to build on what I've established in Calgary."

Laura's work sits at the intersection of workplace decisions and business priorities, with a client base that includes federally and provincially regulated employers, public institutions and First Nations. She has conducted investigations into serious workplace conduct matters, represented clients in labour arbitrations and dismissal matters, and advised on the employment and labour aspects of significant transactions. She has appeared before all levels of court in Alberta, as well as the Alberta Labour Relations Board, human rights tribunals and other administrative tribunals.

"Employers trust Laura with their toughest workplace calls, and for good reason," said Andy Pushalik, National Employment and Labour Group Leader. "She sees how workplace issues connect to broader business decisions and brings a practical, collaborative approach to solving them. We've built tremendous momentum as a national team, and Laura is exactly the kind of partner who will help us take it further. We are thrilled to have her join the Firm."

"No two employers face the same challenges, and Laura has built her practice around that," added John Cusano, Calgary Managing Partner. "She really takes the time to understand how each organization operates. That perspective strengthens an already exceptional Calgary team and the counsel we can offer clients across the province."

Coast to coast, Dentons' Employment and Labour group keeps getting stronger to meet clients' growing needs. Laura's arrival follows the addition of a ten-person powerhouse Employment and Labour team in Toronto and Ottawa, led by partners Richard J. Charney, John Mastoras and Daniel McDonald. This growth brings more leading talent to an already formidable national practice that employers turn to when workplace decisions have real business consequences.
