Cedar Falls Public Safety Partners with the Pink Patch Project

Cedar Falls Public Safety is proud to once again join 'The Pink Patch Project' this October to support breast cancer awareness and research. The Pink Patch Project (PPP) is a collaborative effort between the Los Angeles County Police Chiefs' Association and more than 390 public safety agencies across the nation.

The Pink Patch Project centers on a bright pink version of the police and fire uniform patches. Members of the Public Safety team can choose to wear these patches on their regular uniform through the end of October. The patches are intended to open lines of communication between citizens and encourage discussion about the importance of early detection and treatment in the ongoing fight against the disease. In addition to the pink patches, a police SUV will be striped with pink and display the pink ribbon. The SUV will be used daily by officers while on patrol in October.

To raise funds for those affected by breast cancer, the Public Safety Department will be selling Police and Fire pink patches as well as Beyond Pink TEAM shirts to the community.

Public Safety is excited to release a new shirt design for the 2024 year. Adult-size short-sleeve t-shirts will be available for $20, long-sleeve shirts for $25, and hooded sweatshirts for $30, offered in sizes small through 4XL, gray in color. Pink Fire and Police patches are $10. Patches and shirts can be purchased via cash, check, or card at the Public Safety Center (4600 South Main Street). All proceeds will be donated to the local Beyond Pink TEAM.

Both the patches and shirts will be available to purchase at a wide variety of community events throughout October as well. Follow Cedar Falls Public Safety on Facebook @CFPublicSafety to stay updated on the dates and times of these events.
