From March 3 to 8, 2026, Ambassador Yan Jiarong attended a series of events hosted by the Bahamian side to celebrate International Women's Day. She also published an article in The Tribune, which is a Bahamian mainstream media outlet.
In the article, Ambassador Yan introduced China's achievements in women's development and the outcomes of the 2025 Global Leaders' Meeting on Women. She emphasized that China has consistently integrated women's development into Chinese modernization. The country has achieved historic progress in safeguarding women's rights, promoting gender equality, and advancing women's comprehensive development. The ongoing "Two Sessions" will present a new blueprint for high-quality women's development in the 15th Five-Year Plan. The article stated that China is an advocate and a sincere doer in global women's development, having launched pragmatic cooperation initiatives. Ambassador Yan expressed her commitment to strengthening exchanges and cooperation with the Bahamas on women's issues to contribute to building a community with a shared future.
Ambassador Yan attended the ceremony held at the Government House honouring the Bahamian women in law and order. She was also present at the event for Bahamian female artists.
