Italian Eurofighter Typhoons strengthen Romanian airspace security


Four Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft of the Italian Air Force landed on Wednesday, June 3 rd , at the 57th Air Base in Mihail Kogălniceanu, in Constanța County.


The detachment, consisting of approximately 180 servicemen (pilots and technical personnel) and Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft, will conduct, together with the Romanian Air Force military personnel, NATO-led Enhanced Air Policing missions, over the next two months.


This is the seventh rotation in Romania of the Italian Air Force.

The Enhanced Air Policing missions, conducted jointly with NATO partners, since 2014, contribute to the development of response and deterrence capacity, as well as to the enhancement of interoperability between the Romanian and allied Air Forces.
