ATLANTA | Today, Lt. Governor Burt Jones issued a statement in support of the Senate's passage of House Bill 1000. House Bill 1000 is now headed to Governor Brian Kemp for his consideration and signature.
"The Senate's action today directly fulfills my promise to cut income taxes every year I have served as Georgia's Lt. Governor," said Lt. Governor Burt Jones. "HB 1000 will return over $1 billion to Georgia's hardworking taxpayers in the coming months. I want to thank Governor Brian Kemp and Speaker Jon Burns for their partnership in cutting taxes and returning billions of dollars to Georgia taxpayers over the past four years. As we reach the final weeks of the legislative session, I look forward to working with the Governor and the Speaker to deliver more tax relief to Georgia families and businesses."
House Bill 1000 provides a one-time income tax rebate for taxpayers who filed timely income tax returns for both 2024 and 2025. HB 1000 provides refunds of $250 for a single taxpayer or a married taxpayer filing separately, $375 for a head of household, and $500 for a married couple filing jointly.
