Free Summer Meals Being Provided to Kids through Collaboration between Bettendorf Parks & Recreation and Bettendorf Community School District

May 6, 2026 - The Bettendorf Parks & Recreation Department is teaming up once again with the Bettendorf Community School District to provide free summer meals to kids Monday through Friday, June 8 through July 31.

The meals are funded through the USDA Summer Nutrition Programs (SUN Programs) and include free breakfast and lunch for children, regardless of income, when school is out at the following locations:

BREAKFAST | 8:30-9:30 a.m.
LUNCH | 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
*No meals on July 3, 2026, due to the holiday weekend.

  • Mark Twain Elementary School (1620 Lincoln Road)
LUNCH | 12-12:45 p.m.

  • Bettendorf High School (3333 18th Street)
  • McManus Park (1200 Mississippi Boulevard)
  • Lincoln Park (951 27th Street)
In the event of inclement weather, park meals will be served at the Bettendorf Community Center (2204 Grant Street). Weather alerts will be available by 11:30 a.m. daily at (563) 344-4113.

"The Bettendorf Parks & Recreation Department has a mission of enhancing quality of life opportunities across our city, and this partnership with the Bettendorf Community School District allows us to tackle challenges in our community in creative ways," said Parks & Recreation Director John Byrnes. "Thanks to Bettendorf Schools, kids will be able to enjoy a hot lunch and play in one of our great parks all summer long!"
