MEDIA ADVISORY: UH Mānoa Homecoming Concert, Makers’ Market happening Friday

WHAT: The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Homecoming Concert and Alumni Makers' Market will feature live performances by Rebel Souljahz and Natural Vibrations, with guest artists ChristianLive and Osnizzle. The family-friendly event will include food vendors, local alumni-owned businesses and campus activities. Attendees are encouraged to wear retro UH gear or their favorite aloha wear for "Throwback Aloha Friday." Admission is free, with food and merchandise available for purchase from vendors.

WHEN: Friday, October 16, 3:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.

WHERE: John Henry Wise Field (Bachman Lawn), UH Mānoa campus

WHY: The event aims to bring alumni and the campus community together to celebrate Homecoming, support local, UH alumni owned and alumni-led businesses and showcase UH Mānoa programs and activities.

PARKING: Free parking will be available in the Zone 20 Parking Structure beginning at 2:30 p.m.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • The newest inductees of the UH Mānoa Sports Circle of Honor will make an appearance during the concert and makers' market. They will officially be honored later Friday evening at the Green & White Celebration at 5:30 p.m. at Bankoh Arena at the Stan Sheriff Center.
  • KTUH will be playing from 3 p.m. -4 p.m. and Kainoa Carlson from Hawaii News Now is emceeing. WWE's Nia Jax and Jacob Fatu will also make an appearance.
  • The concert and makers' market follow a weeklong series of homecoming events, including the kick-off, Wellness Day, Mālama Day and Hale Aloha Day. The weeklong series of homecoming festivities is an initiative of new UH Mānoa Chancellor Vassilis L. Syrmos.
  • All events lead up to the UH homecoming football game on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at the Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex vs. New Mexico.
