COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio Department of Commerce Division of Real Estate and Professional Licensing is ushering in a new era of convenience, speed, and accessibility with the launch of a brand new Licensing, Permitting, and Inspections (LPI) Portal. This portal benefits the Division's nearly 90,000 licensees across the state, including real estate salespeople, brokers, appraisers and home inspectors, and marks a transition from stacks of paperwork to a streamlined, digital-first experience.<_o3a_p>
Now live, the eLicense LPI Portal represents a significant upgrade from the previous paper-based system, moving key processes entirely online. By providing users with 24/7 access to manage their licenses, such as submitting applications, uploading renewal documents, and making payments, the portal streamlines workflows and substantially reduces inefficiencies.<_o3a_p>
"Our implementation of a fully digital licensing platform aligns with our goal to leverage technology to provide faster, more convenient service for every professional and business we serve," said Division Superintendent Daphne Hawk. "This new system was designed with our customers in mind, making it easier than ever for them to manage licenses and access the resources they need to succeed in Ohio's in their profession."<_o3a_p>
Key benefits for users include faster turnaround times for license approvals and the ability for licensees to receive electronic communications and real-time status updates on pending applications.<_o3a_p>
Action Steps for Licensed Stakeholders<_o3a_p>
To access the new portal, licensees of the Division must sign up for an OHID, which provides secure and private access to Ohio government services and allows them to access multiple state agency applications and websites. Accounts can be created at ohid.ohio.gov.<_o3a_p>
Individuals may already have an existing OHID account for other state agencies. Once they have an account, they can proceed to the next step by connecting their account to their license on file with the Division. Beyond this, no additional action is needed unless a licensee's renewal date is approaching.<_o3a_p>
