Market opening for Brazil in Chile – Joint press release by MRE/MAPA

The Brazilian government has concluded negotiations that will allow Brazil to export dried distillers grains (DDG/DDGS) to Chile.

This opening benefits an important agricultural input derived from corn ethanol production. Dried distillers grains (DDG/DDGS) are used in the production of animal feed for poultry, cattle, and swine.

In 2025, Brazil exported more than $2.2 billion in agricultural products to Chile, with highlights including meat, forestry products, and the soybean complex.

With this announcement, Brazilian agribusiness has reached 601 market openings since 2023.

These openings are the outcome of joint efforts between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA).
