Apply for spring Staff Senate mini grants for staff professional development

Staff Senate is offering mini grants for staff professional development, providing the opportunity for members of the campus community to pursue training and resources that will enhance their skills and help them contribute to the work of Marquette.

Interested staff members can apply for funding online to support their professional growth. The maximum amount awarded to one individual will be $200. Applications are due by Wednesday, April 30, and will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

Possible opportunities include but are not limited to:

• Online webinars
• Educational resources (books, a speaker, attending an educational event)
• Classes (outside of Marquette and the tuition remission benefit)
  • Courses related to employee's current role will be given preference to courses proposed for future development
• Registration for conference attendance (travel, meals and housing would not be covered)

Eligibility

Any regular, full-time or part-time employee who has been employed for at least one year as of July 1 is eligible.

Note: These funds cannot be used for professional dues as the focus is on education and development for employees. These funds need to be distributed and training completed by the end of FY25/26.

The University Staff Senate is a group of elected individuals who represent Marquette staff so that their views and interests may be considered, alongside those of faculty and students, in the conduct of institutional affairs that affect life in the workplace and in the advancement of the university's mission.
