Prime Minister Gintautas Paluckas extended his congratulations to the Prime Minister of Canada, Mark Carney, and the Government that was sworn-in on Tuesday, wishing the Cabinet every success in their work.
In the message of congratulations, Prime Minister G. Paluckas noted that Lithuania and Canada are united by shared values - democracy, freedom, and the rule of law - which must be resolutely safeguarded in the face of growing challenges.
"We are particularly grateful for Canada's continued contribution to the security of the Baltic region. Your steadfast support, especially within NATO's deterrence and defence posture, remains of vital importance to Lithuania and the entire region.
At this time of profound geopolitical uncertainty, I am confident that our two nations will continue to deepen their cooperation, guided by a strong, shared commitment to democracy, international peace and security, and unwavering support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. Our vibrant societies - especially the active Lithuanian community in Canada - will no doubt contribute meaningfully to advancing these common objectives," G. Paluckas noted in his in his congratulatory message.
