On January 27, 2026, the first meeting of the Council of National Coordinators of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states for the current year commenced at the SCO Secretariat in Beijing under the chairmanship of the Kyrgyz side.
The meeting is being attended by representatives of the ten member states, the Secretariat, and the Executive Committee of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS). SCO Secretary-General Nurlan Yermekbayev delivered a welcoming address at the opening of the event.

During the meeting, participants plan to discuss preparations for high-level and top-level events within the SCO framework in 2026, current issues of the Organization's activities in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian, and other spheres, the development of its international ties, as well as the implementation of agreements reached by the heads of state and government of the SCO member states.
