Pedestrian Fatality Involving Metro Train Under Investigation

Glendale, CA - At approximately 12:07 PM today, Glendale Police officers and Glendale Fire Department personnel responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a Metrolink train near the area of Grandview Avenue and San Fernando Road. Upon arrival, responders located the train and its engineer at the scene.

Preliminary investigation indicates the pedestrian was walking in the tracks at the time of the collision. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. It appears the pedestrian's actions were intentional.

The deceased is believed to be a male approximately 50-60 years of age.

The Los Angeles County Coroner's Office responded to the scene, and the incident is under investigation by the Glendale Police Department.
