The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Kęstutis Budrys, visited Kongsberg NanoAvionics, one of Lithuania's most advanced high-tech companies, and met with the company's management to discuss the growth prospects and export development of Lithuania's space sector.
During the visit, the Minister met with Atle Wøllo, CEO of the company. During the meeting, the company's latest projects and successful missions were presented, in which Lithuanian-produced satellites are contributing to earth observation, climate change mitigation and security enhancement.
"Lithuania's space sector is becoming an increasingly prominent axis of high-tech exports. Companies such as Kongsberg NanoAvionics demonstrate that we possess all the skills not only to develop advanced engineering technologies, but also to integrate into global supply chains and implement projects of international importance. Space is no longer the future, it is already part of Lithuania's economy today," said the Minister.
Founded in 2014 as an initiative of scientists from Vilnius University, Kongsberg NanoAvionics is now a leading European developer of small satellites. Lithuania has actively invested in the space sector in recent years and is already participating in more than 30 European Space Agency's projects.
