The Emergency Department at Ascension Saint Alexius has been recognized with the Emergency Nurses Association's (ENA) 2026 Lantern Award for demonstrating excellence in leadership, practice, education, advocacy and research performance. The award serves as a symbol of the entire emergency department's commitment to quality, safety and a healthy work environment.
The ENA's Lantern Award acts as the premier emergency medicine recognition and Saint Alexius' emergency department is one of just 126 to be recognized for the 2026 iteration of the awards. Recognized teams incorporate evidence-based practices and innovation into emergency care and a commitment to patients and the well-being of their staff. The award places Saint Alexius in the top two percent of emergency departments in the nation.
"Our team doesn't just show up to work. They deliver world-class emergency care," said Kelsey Knutti, Chief Nursing Officer at Ascension Saint Alexius.
The Saint Alexius Emergency Department team will be honored with all other Lantern Award recipients at the ENA's annual conference in Phoenix, Ariz. this fall.
