Every June, Boston comes alive with rainbows and community events as people across the city come together to celebrate Pride Month-a time to honor the history, struggles, and triumphs of the LGBTQ+ community.
We've rounded up events hosted by Boston University and organizations across the city that spotlight LGBTQ+ community, creativity, and connection throughout June. Check them out below.
To start Pride Month loud and proud, the city of Boston is hosting its annual Pride Kickoff with the raising of the Progress Pride flag, followed by a job fair at City Hall Plaza on Monday, June 1, from noon to 1 pm. This vibrant, free, open-to-all event honors the LGBTQ+ community in the very heart of Boston.

LGBTQIA+ Faculty & Staff Community Network are sponsoring a Pride Soirée celebrating LGBTQ+ staff and faculty on Tuesday, June 2, from 5 to 7 pm. The evening will feature hors d'oeuvres, wine, and nonalcoholic beverages. The event will take place on the Charles River Campus, with the location shared in the registration confirmation.

Check out the Museum of Fine Arts' Pride celebration on Friday, June 5, from 6 to 9 pm, as part of its First Fridays program. In partnership with DJ Dayglow, the event will include art-making, a drag performance, and music. Tickets are free for museum members and $27 for the general public and include general admission to the MFA.

Celebrate Pride through music, dance, and live performance at the Multicultural Arts Center on June 5 at 6 pm. The evening will spotlight LGBTQ+ artists, including Senelle Nivan and Salyse, bringing together community members for a night centered on queer creativity. The event will also feature a workout session with Dirty Water Fitness.

This is one event you can't miss: New England's largest Pride event, the Boston Pride for the People celebration, is on Saturday, June 6. The day, which drew more than a million people last year, is open and free to all. It includes a parade from Copley Square to the Boston Common, an all-day festival with live music, festivities, and food trucks. This year's theme, Pride as Protest: Since 1776, brings attention to the role protest has played throughout American history and how LGBTQ+ people have helped shape this country since its founding.

Lace up your sneakers for Boston Theater Company's annual Road of Rainbows Pride 5K on Saturday, June 6. Beginning at 10 am at Brewer Fountain on the Boston Common, the race features a run and walk, live performances, local vendors, and LGBTQ+ artists from across New England. Step back in time and explore Boston's queer history with the Freedom Trail Foundation's Rainbow Revolutionaries tour. Held every Saturday and Sunday beginning June 6, the walking tour features guides in 18th-century costume leading guests through stories of Boston LGBTQ+ activism, romance, and community-building. Tickets are $17 for adults, $15 for seniors and students, and $8 for children.

BU community members are invited to gather in remembrance of the 49 lives lost in the 2016 Pulse Nightclub shooting, one of the deadliest attacks against the LGBTQ+ community in US history. The ceremony, held on Wednesday, June 10, from 2 to 4 pm, will honor the victims and reflect on the importance of queer resilience. The event is open to all BU students, faculty, and staff, with the location provided upon registration.

Take yourself out to the ball game-with Pride! The Red Sox's annual Pride Night at Fenway Park returns Tuesday, June 16, at 6:45 pm, as the Sox take on the Toronto Blue Jays. Join thousands of fans in a night celebrating Boston's LGBTQ+ community. Those who purchase through this offer will receive an exclusive Red Sox Pride soccer jersey.

Join BU LGBTQ+ alumni, allies, and friends at Blend, 1310 Dorchester Ave. in Dorchester, on Wednesday, June 17, from 6 to 8 pm, for BU's annual Pride Month Meet-Up. Not local? No problem-additional meet-ups are being held across the country, and you can find the full list here. Registration is $10 and open to all BU community members.

Looking for a creative way to celebrate Pride Month? Join Taire Chevalier, artist and program administrator of the LGBTQIA+ Student Resource Center, for a Pride Paint & Sip on Wednesday, June 17, from 3 to 5 pm. The event, sponsored by the LGBTQIA+ Center for Faculty & Staff and LGBTQIA+ Student Resource Center, will feature wine, nonalcoholic drinks, and hors d'oeuvres. The event will take place on the Charles River Campus, with the location provided in the registration confirmation.

Celebrate queer and transgender Black, Indigenous, and people of color at a community lunch on Tuesday, June 23, from noon to 1 pm. Open to all BU faculty and staff, the lunch offers an opportunity to meet new colleagues and build connections. The event is sponsored by the LGBTQIA+ Center for Faculty & Staff and will take place on the Charles River Campus. The location will be provided in the registration confirmation.

Celebrate the BU transgender and gender nonconforming community at a lunch on Thursday, June 25, from noon to 1 pm. Open to all BU faculty and staff, the lunch offers an opportunity to meet new colleagues and build connections. The event is sponsored by the LGBTQIA+ Center for Faculty & Staff and will take place on the Charles River Campus. The location will be provided in the registration confirmation.

What better way to close out Pride Month than by getting colorful! Stop by the Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine's Talbot Green (72 E. Concord St.) on June 29 between noon and 1:30 pm to pick up a free shirt to tie-dye. While you're there, enjoy some OTTO pizza, including gluten-free and vegan options. This event is open to the BU community-and make sure to wear shoes you don't mind getting a little messy.

Not ready to say goodbye to Pride? Boston Black Pride is keeping the celebration going with a five-day festival from July 1 to 5, featuring live performances, parties, and a parade. Hosted by the Boston Lesbigay Urban Foundation, the annual Boston Black Pride celebration uplifts and celebrates the diverse identities and histories of the QTBIPOC community. All-access tickets start at $130, with free and discounted tickets available for individual events.
