Russian hacker group known as Laundry Bear hacks Zimbra mail servers

The Russian hacker group Laundry bear has been found responsible for hacking Zimbra mail servers. A large number of defence companies, subcontractors, IT service providers and other organisations in Western countries fell victim to the hacks. The Zimbra hack did not result in any Dutch victims, however.

News of the hacks was disclosed by the Netherlands General Intelligence and Security Service (AIVD), the Netherlands Defence Intelligence and Security Service (MIVD), and the US National Security Agency (NSA), among others, in a Cyber Security Advisory.
