CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Governor Patrick Morrisey has ordered flags lowered to half staff at the Capitol Complex in Charleston and all state buildings in Wayne County to remember the life and service of Don Perdue. The flag order begins at Noon on October 20, 2025, and remains until sunset on the day of internment.

"It is with sadness that I learned of the passing of former Delegate Don Perdue," said Governor Morrisey. "For nearly two decades, he served the people of Wayne County and all of West Virginia in the House of Delegates. His leadership as chairman of the House Health Committee left a lasting impact on our state. Denise and my prayers go out to his friends and family."

Don C. Perdue, who represented Wayne County in the West Virginia House of Delegates from 1999 to 2016, formerly chaired the House Health Committee. During his tenure, he served the Seventeenth, Eighteenth, and Nineteenth Districts. He was a pharmacist and the executive director of the Wayne County Economic Development Authority. Perdue was born in Kenova, West Virginia, earning bachelors of science degrees in chemistry from Marshall University and in pharmacy from Ohio Northern University.
