Additional Information
The City received a federal Safe Roads and Streets for All (SS4A) grant to prepare a Safety Action Plan, with a goal to eliminate roadway fatalities and provide the foundation for the expansion of the City's Safety Program.
The Sandy Springs Safety Action Plan aims to decrease fatal and severe injury crashes by analyzing comprehensive crash data to identify high-crash locations. It will establish safety goals, a framework, and an implementation program to achieve safety targets.
The plan aligns with the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) program, which provides grants for planning, implementation, and demonstration activities to prevent deaths and serious injuries on the nation's roadways. This initiative builds upon Sandy Springs' 2021 Transportation Master Plan, emphasizing "a safe and connected transportation system for users of all modes" as a primary objective.
