Body

On Wednesday July 15, construction will begin on the Hope School District Crosswalk Safety Project (Project). The Project will improve safety at one school crosswalk next to Hope Elementary School on La Colina Road and two school crosswalks at Monte Vista Elementary on Hope Avenue by installing Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFBs), adding lighting, and constructing a curb extension. These improvements will shorten crossing distances, increase pedestrian visibility for drivers, and provide safer crossing conditions for students and families traveling to and from school.

No parking signs will be posted at least 72 hours prior to construction and detour signs (as necessary) will also be provided. Construction will occur Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Construction is anticipated to be completed in late August 2026.
