Albert Perez wins second teacher drawing in Santa Ana’s annual Youth Water Poster Contest

Congratulations to Albert Perez, a third-grade teacher at Lincoln Elementary School, winner of the second teacher drawing in Santa Ana's annual Youth Water Poster Contest.

Mr. Perez has taught both third and fourth grades for the past 28 years. Having brought the contest into his classroom before, he shared that this was the first year so many of his students participated.

Reflecting on this year's theme, "Water is…," Mr. Perez said he hopes students develop an appreciation for the importance of water and how precious it is.

Each year, Santa Ana Water's Youth Water Poster Contest invites students to explore the importance of water through art and imagination. Two drawings for a $200 Art Supply Warehouse gift card are held for participating teachers to encourage classroom involvement.

Santa Ana's Water Resources Division is grateful for teachers like him who help students appreciate how important and precious water is through creative expression.
