(BINGHAMTON, NY) - Broome County will welcome teams, families, and fans from across New York State for the 2026 New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) Boys Basketball Championships taking place at the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena from Thursday, March 19 through Sunday, March 22, 2026.
The four-day tournament is expected to bring significant economic activity to the region, with visitors filling local hotels, dining at area restaurants, and shopping at local businesses while experiencing all that Downtown Binghamton has to offer.
"This is a major event for Broome County, and we're proud to once again welcome teams and families from across New York State to our community," said Broome County Executive Jason Garnar. "Not only does this tournament showcase high-level competition, it brings real economic impact to our local businesses and gives us an opportunity to highlight everything Broome County has to offer. We're excited to build on that success again this year and continue hosting through 2027."

Binghamton residents will have a chance to cheer on some of the best high school basketball players in the state, and fans can enjoy all our City has to offer while they're here," said City of Binghamton Mayor Jared Kraham. "We look forward to hosting and wish all the student athletes good luck."
According to Visit Binghamton, the inaugural year of the three-year host term at the arena generated an estimated $1.9 million in total economic impact and brought nearly 20,000 visitors to the area.
"The Visit Binghamton team is proud to have played a part in securing the basketball tournament for our community. We have a strong love of basketball here and a world class venue. And we're so glad to have local teams represented once again," said Visit Binghamton Director Judi Hess.
Broome County will be represented on the court, with both Maine-Endwell and Seton Catholic Central competing in this year's tournament. Maine-Endwell will play in the Class A semifinal matchup on Thursday at 6 PM, while Seton will compete in the Class AA semifinal game on Friday at 10 AM.
Jeff Ferrara, Assistant Director of Section IV Athletics said, "Section IV is proud and excited to bring some of the best basketball NYS has to offer to the greater Binghamton area. With teams coming from every corner of NYS it is exciting to show them all that the triple cities have to offer and the great facilities and atmosphere for championship events provided by the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena."
