Outstanding WSU alumni, community members honored at 46th Annual Arts Achievement Awards

Wayne State University's College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts will honor prestigious alumni, educators, and civic leaders in their respective fields during the 46th Annual Arts Achievement Awards.

In total, six outstanding recipients will be recognized for their artistic achievements and dedication to the arts during this year's event, which takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 16, at the Detroit Jazz Hall in the Gretchen C. Valade Jazz Center.

"The Arts Achievement Awards are a celebration of the remarkable talent and dedication that define our creative community," said CFPCA Interim Dean Kelly Young. "They reflect Wayne State University's ongoing commitment to supporting the arts - not just within our classrooms and studios, but throughout the careers and lives of our alumni who are shaping culture far beyond campus."

The College will celebrate the award recipients during a special ceremony, which is free and open to the public. Following the ceremony, guests are welcome to gather in the lobby for an afterglow celebration. All attendees are encouraged toRSVP by Oct. 9.
