DENVER - Denver's Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DOTI), in partnership with Denver Arts and Venues, announces the first Colfax Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) art installation is complete! The night version of the artwork shown below is now beautifying the canopy of the westbound station arch at Pennsylvania Street. In 2024, Denver Arts & Venues commissioned five artists or artist teams/ organizations to create original artworks for 15 separate stations along the future East Colfax Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) line in Denver. Each artist was assigned three different stations to create original designs for, with artworks integrated into the glass canopies above station platforms. The goals for the artwork include highlighting and bolstering the history, diversity and spirit of the Colfax corridor. The project budget is $2.2 million and includes design, fabrication and installation of the artwork.

More examples of the artwork that will be added along East Colfax Avenue can be found on the project website. Artists commissioned include Access Gallery (Denver, CO), Justin DeCou (Denver, CO), Lui Ferreyra (Golden, CO), Koco Collaborations, (Denver, CO), and Janelle Stanley (Tempe, AZ). The East Colfax BRT project team is planning a series of "meet the artist" events at local East Colfax businesses. The first event is expected to be held in February 2026.

His work has been published by New American Paintings, Art Ltd, Wired Magazine, FastCompany, Forbes, Huffington Post, and most recently on the cover of Artists Magazine.
