Sheriff Sean Casey is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for the spring session of the Sheriff's Community Academy. This free program offers those who live or work in the City of Alexandria the opportunity to learn firsthand about the Sheriff's Office and its crucial role in local public safety.
The spring session will run for four consecutive Saturday mornings, from March 7 to March 28, with classes being held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The application deadline is Friday, February 27, but space is limited so don't delay.
Sheriff's Community Academy attendees will explore the work of the Sheriff's Office through a combination of presentations and interactive learning, covering key areas such as:
• Jail operations
• Inmate services and programs
• Judicial operations
• Public safety services
In addition to classroom learning, attendees will get a behind-the-scenes look with tours of the Adult Detention Center and the Alexandria Courthouse, along with engaging in hands-on activities.
