WT Career and Internship Expo Set for Oct. 1; Employer Registration Due Sept. 17

CANYON, Texas - Deadline is Sept. 17 for potential employers to register for West Texas A&M University's 52nd annual Career and Internship Expo.

The expo, held by WT's Office of Career and Professional Development, will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 1 in the First United Bank Center on WT's Canyon campus.

It is designed for students graduating within the next year, those looking for summer internships or part-time positions now and in the future, and those with questions for employers about their future career options.

"The Career and Internship Expo strengthens the connection between our students and the employers who are looking for the talent, skills and fresh perspectives our graduates bring to the workforce," said Sam Langford, senior director. "We want our students to walk away from the event with new connections, greater confidence and a clearer vision of what's possible for their careers."

Registration is $250 through 11:59 p.m. Sept. 17.

The expo is just one way in which the office prepares students for entering the workforce, ultimately helping them to graduate and succeed.

WT works to help students develop the skills necessary to find and keep gainful employment during their time at WT and beyond. Services include resume reviews, mock interviews, internship assistance and career coaching.

Upcoming job fairs include the Graduate and Professional Schools Fair on Sept. 8 and Meet the Accountants on Nov. 12.
