City of Long Beach to Host and Fund 2025 Pride Parade, Announces Grand Marshals

Long Beach, CA - The City of Long Beach will serve as the official host for the 2025 Long Beach Pride Parade for the second consecutive year, ensuring the longstanding and cherished event continues for 2025. The City, along with the Port of Long Beach and Council District Two, are co-sponsors of this year's parade. The City also announced today the grand marshals for the parade.

"The Long Beach Pride Parade is more than just a celebration-it's a cherished tradition that reflects the heart and soul of our city. It's a vibrant expression of love, acceptance and unity, reminding us of the power of living authentically and standing together," said Mayor Rex Richardson. "Join us as we honor and uplift our LGBTQ+ community, celebrate the rich diversity that defines Long Beach, and continue building a more inclusive and compassionate future for all."

The parade has been a staple of Long Beach and the LA region for decades, attracting thousands of spectators and participants each year. The 42nd annual parade will take place on Sunday, May 18, commence at Ocean Boulevard and Lindero Avenue and travel along iconic stretches of Ocean Boulevard and Alamitos Avenue in Downtown. Led by the grand marshals, Long Beach Pride Parade will feature a variety of participating organizations, business and stakeholder groups showcasing vibrant and engaging floats and displays.

Businesses and community organizations interested in participating in the parade can submit an entry application now through Friday, May 9, 2025. There is no entry fee to participate in the parade.

"The Pride Parade is a not just a great community event, it's an important movement at a time in our nation's history where we are the most vulnerable," said Second District Councilwoman Cindy Allen. "This year's theme is the 'The Power of Community,' and Long Beach has always been a leader in supporting LGBTQ+ rights. Our commitment to our LGBTQ+ community is unwavering, and we will continue being a leader in the fight for equality. It's a privilege to be able to support this year's event; I know it means a lot to our residents, businesses and LGBTQ+ communities across the southland."

• Whitey Littlefield Community Bridge Building Grand Marshal - Carolyn Caldwell
• Robert Crow Grand Marshal and Celebrity Grand Marshal - Jennifer Kumiyama
• Marilyn Barlow Grand Marshal - founding members of It's a Drag to Give Debra Kahookele, Josie Quiros, Rocio Rached and Isa Rached, who sadly passed away on Jan. 2, 2025
• Judith Doyle Grand Marshal - Pastor Tony Carreras from Christ Chapel Long Beach
• Dr. Robert Garcia Youth Grand Marshal - Alex Malleis-Sternberg
