Singapore and Italy Sign Conclusion of Supply Chain Resiliency Arrangement

Singapore and Italy concluded the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Supply Chain Resiliency this morning. The MoU was signed by MINDEF's Permanent Secretary (Defence Development) Mr Melvyn Ong and Italy's National Armaments Director Vice Admiral Giacinto Ottaviani.

Italian Minister of Defence Guido Crosetto is in Singapore to attend the 23rd Shangri-La Dialogue (SLD).

Minister Crosetto met with Minister for Defence, Mr Chan Chun Sing on the sidelines of the SLD this morning. During the call, both ministers reaffirmed the warm and friendly defence relations between Singapore and Italy, which continues to grow steadily across multiple domains. They also exchanged views on geopolitical and security developments.

Before the call, Singapore and Italy concluded the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Supply Chain Resiliency. Signed by MINDEF's Permanent Secretary (Defence Development) Mr Melvyn Ong, and Italy's National Armaments Director Vice Admiral Giacinto Ottaviani, the arrangement strengthens both countries' defence supply chains to deal with unforeseen disruptions. The exchange was witnessed by Mr Crosetto and Mr Chan, with Ambassador of Italy to Singapore His Excellency Dante Brandi present.

Singapore and Italy's defence cooperation spans high-level visits and dialogues, military exchanges and training across Services, and defence technology collaboration.
