Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) has been closely monitoring Hurricane Milton's track and has been working directly with the National Weather Service and Miami-Dade Office of Emergency Management.
After consultation with the County's emergency officials, Schools Superintendent Dr. Jose L. Dotres has suspended all M-DCPS school-related activitiesinclusive of adult education as of 6 p.m., Tuesday, October 8, 2024. After-school care will remain open, but parents are encouraged to pick up their children as early as possible.
In addition, classes at all M-DCPS schools have been cancelled on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. This includes adult education, school-based after-care programs, activities and athletic events.
