Congressman Burchett votes in favor of the SAVE America Act

For Immediate Release:

Washington, DC (February 11, 2026) -- Today, Congressman Tim Burchett (TN02) voted YES on the SAVE America Act. The bill was introduced by Congressman Chip Roy (TX21) and is cosponsored by Congressman Burchett. The SAVE America Act requires individuals to provide documentary proof of U.S. citizenship when registering to vote and to present photo identification to cast a ballot in federal elections.

"Protecting our elections is vital to ensuring that our kids and grandkids still have a country in 50 years. This legislation is supported by the overwhelming majority of Americans, and it is common sense to have to show proof of citizenship at the polls," said Congressman Burchett. "If Americans have to show an ID to purchase a six pack, check into a hotel room, or fly on a plane, they should have to do the same when they go to vote."
