City Now Accepting Co-Sponsorship Applications for Special Events

Applications Due by April 6 at 5 p.m.

March 06, 2026

Attention, organizers of vibrant, community-centered special events! The City of Tallahassee is excited to announce that Special Event Co-Sponsorship applications are now being accepted for events taking place between Oct. 1, 2026, and Sept. 30, 2028.

Special events spark economic activity, strengthen community spirit and shine a spotlight on Florida's Capital City. The City invites applications from event organizers hosting free, public events held on City-owned or managed property. Through co-sponsorships, the City allocates available resources and services that help bring dynamic experiences to life for residents and visitors alike.

Applications are available online and must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Monday, April 6, 2026.

The City's Public Events Policy and Procedures, approved by the City Commission, provide clear guidelines for the allocation of City resources and services. As part of this policy, co-sponsored events must complete a mandatory application process, conducted every two years.

All eligible applications will be reviewed and evaluated by a Special Events Committee, and the committee will provide recommendations for co-sponsorship to the City Commission for final consideration.

Event organizers are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to partner with the City and help create memorable, inclusive and impactful experiences that bring the community together.

An Applicant Workshop will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, at 1201 Myers Park Drive. Attendance is optional and designed to provide an opportunity for potential applicants to ask questions related to eligibility, criteria and the overall application process. The workshop will also be offered virtually. To register to attend the workshop, email [email protected] no later than Monday, March 9.
