INCIDENT SUMMARY: According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, the Washington County Sheriff's Office arrested Ruth A. Byrne (35) of Easton, New York for Assault in the 2nd Degree, a class D Felony after an investigation into an assault at the Washington County Jail. It is alleged that Byrne, an Incarcerated Individual assaulted another Incarcerated Person within the Jail causing physical injury to the said person.
Byrne was arraigned at Washington County Centralized Arraignment and was remanded with bail set at 10,000 dollars cash, 20,000 dollar bond, or partially secured bond at 40,00 dollars.
