Willkie was selected as counsel to the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors of LIV Golf, owner and operator of the world's only global professional golf league.
LIV Golf filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on September 8, 2026, in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey. LIV Golf has entered into a Restructuring Support Agreement with BC Partners Advisors L.P. for a proposed recapitalization transaction under which the reorganized company is expected to be majority owned by the players, creating an ownership structure aligning players' interests with the league's long-term success. LIV Golf intends to emerge from Chapter 11 in early 2027.
The Willkie team is led by Strategic Capital and Restructuring partners Brett Miller, Paul Labov, Chris DiPompeo, Todd Goren, Brian Lennon, Jim Burbage and Marc Hecht, and Tax partner Yaniv Maman.
