Escambia County Monitoring Severe Weather Beginning Tonight, March 15

Escambia County is monitoring possible severe weather beginning overnight Sunday, March 15 into early morning Monday, March 16. Residents are encouraged to monitor the risk and have multiple ways to receive weather updates.

Escambia County is at a Slight to Enhanced Risk for severe weather, according to the National Weather Service of Mobile. A line of storms will move across the area early Monday morning, with the timing for Escambia County expected to be between 1 and 3 a.m. Possible hazards include damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph and strong tornadoes.

All Escambia County beaches will be at a High Risk of rip currents beginning Sunday evening and continuing throughout Monday. During this time, the surf will be dangerous for all levels of swimmers.
