City-Parish Holiday Closures
BATON ROUGE, LA - Tuesday, December 23, 2025 - City-Parish offices will be closed December 24, December 25, and December 26 in observance of the Christmas holiday.
There will be no curbside garbage, recycling, or out-of-cart services on Christmas Day. Garbage and recycling collection will resume on each resident's next regularly scheduled collection day. Out-of-cart services for residents with Thursday collection will be serviced on Saturday, December 27.
The North Landfill will be closed on Christmas Day. The Starwood Court Collection Facility will be closed on Thursday, December 25, and Friday, December 26.
The Republic Services recycling drop-off center, located at 7933 Tom Drive, operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and will continue to accept recyclables throughout the holiday period.
BREC is accepting Christmas trees at various locations for recycling. More information can be found on their website.
Christmas trees will also be collected at the curb on residents' regularly scheduled out-of-cart collection day.
