The Attorney General's Office today announced Stephen Nuciolo Jr., 18, of Bridport, Vermont, pleaded not guilty to the charge of Murder in the Second Degree at his arraignment in Vermont Superior Court, Addison Criminal Division, following his invocation of the 24-hour rule. Mr. Nuciolo, who was charged yesterday, is accused of fatally shooting his father on January 24, 2024, in Bridport, Vermont.
The Court, Judge Robert Katims presiding, ordered Mr. Nuciolo be held on $100,000 bail or until he can be released into the custody of a responsible adult, at a residence pre-approved by the Court. The Court ordered these conditions to apply while the case is transferred to the Family Court to assess the defendant's appropriateness for youthful offender consideration, which the Attorney General's Office did not object to.
The Attorney General's Office emphasizes that individuals charged with a crime are legally presumed innocent until their guilt is proven beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
