Homicide Investigation

The department is currently conducting a homicide investigation on the 1900 block of California Street.
At Noon today, officers responded to an apartment complex in the 1900 block of California Street after a property manager reported finding a deceased person inside one of the units.
When officers arrived, they located a deceased female Berkeley resident in her 30s inside the apartment where she lived.
The investigation is still in its preliminary stages, and detectives are in the process of taking over the case from Patrol officers. This investigation will be conducted in conjunction with the Alameda County Coroner's office.
