Every year in April, National Safe Digging Month is an opportunity to remind homeowners, contractors, and any professional excavator to keep communities safe by contacting 811 before starting any digging project.
Did you know more than 50 percent of outside natural gas leaks are caused by digging or construction that disturbs natural gas pipelines? Across the country, underground natural gas and other utility lines are damaged by digging or construction nearly 200,000 times each year.
