2.05.26 UPDATE: Tennessee National Guard Continues Winter Storm Response

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - More than 250 Soldiers and Airmen with the Tennessee National Guard continue to support state, county, and local emergency responders in 5 counties across Tennessee following Winter Storm Fern.

Guardsmen are primarily organized into 3-4 person "Cut and Toss" teams, clearing trees and debris with skid steers and chainsaws to assist Nashville Electric Services and other state and local departments and Emergency Management Agencies to open roadways and restore power to Tennesseans. Guardsmen are currently operating in Davidson, Hardin, Macon, Perry, and Williamson Counties.

Since the storm began, Tennessee National Guardsmen cleared debris from more than 937 miles of road throughout the state, performed health and welfare checks at over 570 locations, assisted at 13 warmer centers and shelters, transported nearly 300 medical personnel to area hospitals, and rescued over 260 stranded motorists.
