Winter Tiger IV, ROK-U.S. Joint Exercise on Nuclear Counterterrorism, Takes Place in Seoul

The Republic of Korea and the United States will hold Winter Tiger IV, a joint exercise on radiological and nuclear (R/N) counterterrorism from December 15 to 16 in Seoul. In this exercise, with 120 representatives from radiological and nuclear counterterrorism agencies of both countries attending, the participants will assume a scenario involving a radiological terrorist attack in Seoul, review step-by-step response capabilities and the roles of the relevant agencies, and discuss opportunities for enhanced ROK-U.S. cooperation.

Since 2017, Winter Tiger has served as a key exercise built in mutual trust between the two countries, contributing not only to strengthening bilateral nuclear cooperation but also to reinforcing the ROK-U.S. alliance. It has become a strong symbol of bilateral cooperation in the field of nuclear security.
