ITS trading volume reaches record $2.5 bln in May

International Trading Systems Posted

ITS, the international trading platform, reached a record trading volume of $2.5 billion in May 2026, up 30% from the previous month.
The growth was supported by favourable global market conditions, an expanded range of available instruments and an increase in the number of investors trading on ITS. The previous monthly record of $2.1 billion was set in March 2026.
In total, investors on ITS executed more than 385,000 transactions in May, compared with 355,000 transactions a month earlier.
The most actively traded instruments in May were equities and ETFs with primary listings on U.S. exchanges: Direxion Daily Semiconductor Bear 3X Shares (SOXS), Micron Technology, Inc. (MU), Direxion Daily Semiconductor Bull 3X ETF (SOXL), Nebius Group N.V. (NBIS), ProShares Ultra Bloomberg Natural Gas (BOIL), Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD) and NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA).

May highlights:

  • ITS conducted a scheduled rebalancing of its flagship ITS World Index (ITSW) and an unscheduled rebalancing of the ITS Shariah Index (ITSS).
  • The ITSW, ITSS and ITSD exchange-traded funds reached all-time highs. The ITSW ETF has returned more than 40% since its launch in November 2024.
  • ITS expanded its Islamic securities offering by admitting sovereign and corporate sukuk from Gulf countries to trading.
  • ITS served as principal sponsor of an Islamic finance development forum held at the AIFC.
  • ITS Central Securities Depository Limited and the Central Depository of Armenia signed a depository cooperation agreement in Yerevan on May 29.
