Charge d’Affaires a.i. of the Chinese Embassy in Cyprus Zhou Yunliang Attends “China Red” Light-up Ceremony to Celebrate Spring Festival

On the evening of February 16, Chinese New Year's Eve, Charge d'Affaires a.i. Zhou Yunliang visited Eleftheria Square in Nicosia to participate in the "China Red" Light-up Ceremony. He warmly greeted members of the Chinese community in Cyprus and exchanged New Year wishes with them. Participants jointly extended heartfelt wishes for China's prosperity, the well-being of its people, and the enduring friendship between China and Cyprus.

Meanwhile, Limassol Town Hall was illuminated in "China Red" to mark the Spring Festival. In Larnaca, both Europe Square and Old GSZ Stadium Fountain were lit up in red for the occasion. The vibrant displays attracted many Chinese people and local Cypriot residents, who gathered to celebrate and share in the festive atmosphere.

The year 2026 marks the third consecutive year that major cities across Cyprus have illuminated landmark buildings in red to welcome the Spring Festival, a vivid testament to the enduring friendship between China and Cyprus and their peoples.
