Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs attends the ASEAN-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Foreign Ministers' Meeting on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly

On 23 September 2026, H.E. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, attended the ASEAN-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Foreign Ministers' Meeting on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly at the Permanent Mission of Singapore to the United Nations in New York.

The Meeting discussed ways to strengthen ASEAN-GCC cooperation and relations, as well as exchange views on international developments. Thailand highlighted three areas of cooperation: (1) promoting economic partnership; (2) enhancing energy and food security; and (3) strengthening people-to-people ties, particularly through tourism. Thailand also underscored the importance of upholding international law, multilateralism, and a rules-based multilateral trading system.

The Meeting provided an important opportunity for Thailand and ASEAN to exchange views on geopolitical developments, while helping shape future cooperation and further strengthen relations between ASEAN and the GCC.
